THE ANGRY CATS
OUTMONSTER THE MONSTER

A travers les 11 titres, The Angry Cats explorent plusieurs
studio Garage.

groupe.
A Day of Fear and Frown raconte le meurtre de
Michael Brown à Ferguson, I Just Can’t Keep Out of
pendant qu’Outmonster the Monster questionne les
The Invisible Hand, sensée harmonieusement réguler
se rêve en Master of the World.
Dans ce chaos, Everyone I Know questionne :
que sont mes amis devenus ?
L’album Outmonster The Monster appartient à son
temps et à ses colères noires.

THE ANGRY CATS, c’est :
Fred ALPI : chant, guitare.
Né en Suède, Fred vit à Amiens, Bruxelles,
Berlin puis Paris.

Track Name: Put Your Hand in Mine
PUT YOUR HAND IN MINE

Put your hand in mine
If you lust for me
But I draw the line
I am not the one and only
Who wants you day and night
And forever. And forever,
I'll Appear with the sunset light
In the morning, I will flee

Put your hand in mine
If you lust for me
Put your hand in mine
I don't promise it's "pour la vie"

A seductive melody
The traveller's song
Will clear your bed and your body
Before the rise of the thunderstorm
A bad novel can't make us happy
We don't want it on our shelves
Good times suit a short story
Keep those secrets to ourselves

Put your hand in mine
If you lust for me
Put your hand in mine
I don't promise it's "pour la vie"
Track Name: A Piece of Steak
A PIECE OF STEAK

Tom King eats his last piece of bread
Constant hunger fills his head
Starvation has become a daily obsession
Visible on his exhausted expression
Tom has the rough face of a criminal
And he is known as a fighting animal
A double broken nose and a cauliflower ear
Aggressive and heavy jaws, all is here

Goddamn, can I get a piece of steak ?
I just need a piece of steak

Lizzie, his wife, is his only love
With their two kids and their dog
He's an old boxer now but he has to fight
With a very young boxer tonight
Inside the ring, he wounds and he swipes
Tom hurts and destroys, never hates
Outside, he's cool, in a good mood
Tom is just here to earn some food

Goddamn, can I get a piece of steak ?
I just need a piece of steak

When Tom was young, rich and glorious
He showed himself dangerously generous
Now he's hungry, weak and poor
So-called friends have closed their doors
Tom jabs up and hits like a blitz
Left hook to the eyes, right hook to the ribs
But Tom knows that his biggest mistake
Is that he did not eat a piece of steak

Goddamn, can I get a piece of steak ?
I just need a piece of steak
Track Name: Outmonster the Monster
OUTMONSTER THE MONSTER

Everything I can think of
Which led to an upheaval
Was fulfilled out of love
Beyond virtue and evil

I slowly understand that
Time is always my ally
When I'm lonely, I'm an acrobat
Beyond my truth and their lie

Is it better to outmonster the monster
Or be quietly devastated by the monster?

In casting out my demon
I exorcize my best
Because there is more wisdom
When I walk along a crest

My deepest philosophy
Is the chaos within myself
My dancing star is ready
And she will appear as an elf

Is it better to outmonster the monster
Or be quietly devastated by the monster?
Track Name: A Day of Fear and Frown
A DAY OF FEAR AND FROWN

Darren’s a wise man of habit,
Takes the same route every day
He stays within the limits
Strictly marking the shape of the array

Defines himself as a normal man
Living a normal life in a normal town
And that's where everything began
On this day of fear and frown
On this day of fear and frown

Hands up, don't shoot
But Darren still took Michael down
Black boy, strange fruit
On this day of fear and frown
On this day of fear and frown

Darren knows that strange behaviour Should be quickly on the mend Doesn’t dare to change the colour
Of his clothes, of his friends
The disorder he will meet
Has the face of Michael Brown
Who walks in the middle of the street
On this day of fear and frown
On this day of fear and frown

Darren says he shot without passion
When Michael raised his hands in the air
Pleasure is the obvious emotion
When he tells friends of this affair
When boredom becomes a lifestyle
For a racist cop in a small town
A murder turns a yawn into a smile
On this day of fear and frown
On this day of fear and frown

Hands up, don't shoot
But Darren still took Michael down
Black boy, strange fruit
On this day of fear and frown
On this day of fear and frown

INFORMATION

I was not there
But I speak
And I know
I saw it on the screen
I saw it on TV
I heard the radio
I read it in the paper
So I speak
So I know
And you, yes you
You told me

You were not there
But you speak
And you know
You saw it on the screen
You saw it on TV
You heard the radio
You read it in the paper
So you speak
So you know
And he
He told you

He was not there
But he speaks
And he knows
He saw it on the screen
He saw it on
TV He heard the radio
He read it in the paper
So he speaks
So he knows
And they
They told him

They were not there
But they speak
Because they know
They were not there
But they speak
Because they know
And they speak
They speak on the screens
They speak on TV
They speak on radio
They speak in the papers
Because they know
Because they know
They tell me
They tell you
They tell us all the time
Everything we should believe
And not what we should know
Especially for us
They tell tales
Beautiful stories
And they call them
Information
Track Name: The Invisible Hand
THE INVISIBLE HAND

You've been here before
And it's later than you think
Creeping on the floor
Begging for one more drink
Different place, same protocol
For a loaded golden boy
Double bottle triple trouble
The old game you enjoy

Where do you speak from?
Do you deserve all that you have?
Another rich bum
Spoiled by the invisible hand

Lower class brats
Meet upper class rascals
Stray dogs and cats
Always entertain mobsters
Two sides of a barricade
Communing through alcohol
Your freedom is just illusion
Blooming from intoxication

Where do you speak from?
Do you deserve all that you have?
Another rich bum
Spoiled by the invisible hand
Track Name: I Just Can't Keep Out of Politics
I JUST CAN’T KEEP OUT OF POLITICS

Though many in the modern age
Just bury their head in the sand
Building the bars of their own cage
Tying one hand to the other hand
All issues are political
But politics is a mass of lies
Schizophrenic and hateful
They say you’ll live after you die

War against a foreign country
Happens when the moneyed classes
Think they’ll turn butchery
Into capital in masses
All the war-propaganda
All the screaming, all the lies
Call out a simple enigma:
Why the speaker never dies?

I just can't keep out of politics

The concept of objective truth
Is fading out of history
It is stuck into a booth
Tightly tied to conspiracy
Never ending whispers,
Fake speech with a sweet voice
Government has convinced them
That they really had a choice”

I just can't keep out of politics
Track Name: Master of the World
MASTER OF THE WORLD

You need another injection of fuel
But energy is not your biggest problem
White line fever has become so cruel
That any move feels like an abstraction
You saw yourself as a skilful winner
Justly rewarded for his masterwork
Time is money, money is a booster
But now you just feel like a jerk

You were the master, the master,
The master of the world
You're now the loser, the loser,
The loser in the her

When snow is burning, it's consuming you
Time flows away in a slow escape
The illusion of power comes out of the blue
Filling the void of your inner space
Holding on tight, grasping at straws
Rooting yourself in your best dimension
Violent backlash, obscure recall
Brings memory to transient vision

You were the master, the master,
The master of the world
You're now the loser, the loser,
The loser in the her
Track Name: I Need You
I NEED YOU, AND NOTHING ELSE WILL DO

I cannot say I know you
But this is true, for sure
I could share a thousand sins
In the fever of your skin

You know my heart is burning
And for you it is yearning
Each time I dive into
Your great green eyes

I need you, and nothing else will do
I need you, and nothing else will do

It was a night of all dangers
A crowded place, filled with strangers
I looked at you, I saw the light
I knew it was love at first sight
Crossing the desert took some time
You know some dunes are hard to climb
You looked at me, you held me tight
You already felt it was right

I need you, and nothing else will do
I need you, and nothing else will do
Track Name: Everyone I Know
EVERYONE I KNOW

Everything I see
Everyone I know
Is sustaining the Tree
For the Qi to flow

Every sound I hear
Every-thing I smell
Pulling me apart
Both there and here

Everything I see
Everyone I know
Hard to hold on
When you go go go

Life on ecstasy
Love on video
Really nothing for me
You already know

At any degree
Life becomes a show
They're earning the key
Opening death row

Everything I see
Everyone I know
Hard to hold on
When you go go go

See me, feel me
Tell me yes or no
Touch me, heal me
Just say hello
Every book I read
Every way I go
Is now telling me
How I should flow

Everything I see
Everyone I know
Hard to hold on
When you go go go
Track Name: The Sound of Silence
THE SOUND OF SILENCE

Before I start to lose my patience
When side by side with so much arrogance

She's not here, but I feel her presence
In this state, can I find my balance?

I already tried looking beyond appearance
But you rarely learn from experience

Even if I understand it
As a lack of self-confidence I also know that it is
A vital part of violence

I would like to put some distance
Sometimes I prefer
The sound of silence
